Audi History :
Audi AG is a German based fine automobile manufacturer with main headquarters in Ingolstadt, Bavaria. Audi has been an almost fully owned subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group since 1964. The manufacturer evolved from Auto Union, NSU, Horch and DKW, the former having incorporated the historic Audi company which was originally founded in 1910. Audi's German tagline is "Vorsprung durch Technik", meaning "Advancement Through Technology", implying an advantage due to superior engineering and technology. The American tagline is "Truth in Engineering" which has similar connotations regarding the manufacturing process. The Japanese tagline is "Never Follow", which was the old American tagline signifying Audi as a leader among automobile manufacturers.
