Chevrolet History :
Chevrolet also known as Chevy is a brand of automobile manufactured in the United States by General Motors. It is the top selling General motors brand and the best known brand of General Motors worldwide. Chevrolet or "Chevy" being at times almost synonymous with GM. Chevrolet currently offers over 20 vehicles and many different enhanced versions in its domestic market. The vehicles range from subcompact cars to medium duty commercial trucks. It's best selling models in the United States include the Silverado pickup and the Impala. Chevrolet was co-founded by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant. Louis Chevrolet was a race car drive born in Switzerland. William Durant, founder of General Motors, had been forced out of GM in 1910 and wanted to use Louis Chevrolet's designs to rebuild his own reputation as a competitor in the automobile industry. Famous Chevy models include the large and luxurious Impala, the muscle car Monte Carlo and the innovative air-cooled rear-engined Corvair. Chevrolet has had a great influence on the American automobile market since the 1950s and 1960s with millions of Americans having owned a Chevy at one time or another.
