Mercedes History :
Established in 1871, Benz & Cie. was the most influential of several companies founded by Karl Benz. The Benz Patent Motor wagon was far ahead of its times because in 1886 it was the 1st 4 stroke engine ever made. DMG was founded by Gottlieb Daimler and his partner Wilhelm Maybach in 1890, however Daimler died in 1900 and Maybach departed DMG by 1907. In 1924, due to economic issues following World War One, the two entered into an "Agreement of Mutual Interest" (valid until the year 2000). Though theagreement still allowed each company to manufacture and sell their products under the original brand names. It was only after the official merger in 1926, that the brand Mercedes-Benz was first used.
